2009 Norway sidewalk Art Show Winners
NORWAY – More than 130 artists converged on the Main Street of Norway for the largest Norway Sidewalk Art Show in its 42-year history. In a wonderful coincidence, Duncan E. Slade taking Best of Show for his oil painting of Paris Street in Norway marked the 30 year anniversary of his first best of show win at the 12th Annual Norway Sidewalk Art Show in 1979.
Over $4,200 was given to artists in 17 awards including cash awards chosen by judges as well as purchase and choice awards during the annual Norway Arts Festival last Saturday. A panel of three judges labored over the tough choices packed onto every available square inch of wall space in the Western Maine Art Group’s Gallery, the Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center.
