An Exhibit of the photography of Tere Porter will be the featured window exhibit
for the month of June at the Norway Savings Bank Operations Center on Main
Street in Norway, Maine.

It was five years before moving to the Oxford Hills that the Western Maine Art Group
member’s love of photography took flight with a high school graduation gift.
Born in Aroostook County Porter has lived in Norway since 1965 where he ran a
successful optometry practice for decades.

This shutter bug discovered a love of video when his children were in high school, filming all of their musical
concerts. After they graduated, he continued supporting the Music, Arts and
Dram Booster Club with his interest viewing life through the eye of a camera.

"I love the beauty of a single flower blossom. The pedals are so delicate, intricate
and exciting to behold. When I see a sunset of vivid hues, I can’t help but try
to catch the majesty of that moment. I also want to capture the brilliant
colors of fall foliage. I enjoy what fog does to light and a scene as it is
rising in the morning sun. I am intrigued by what happens when a firework
explodes and what happens when I try to photograph it with a handheld or tripod
mounted camera. In short, I love nature and what God has put before us to
enrich our lives. I pray that somehow I can preserve a fraction of God’s wonders,”
said Porter.

Hi work has been most recently shown at the Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center and is currently for
sale at Secret Gardens Flower & Gifts.
