The Western Maine Art Group Announces 2010 Season Schedule
NORWAY – The
Western Maine Art Group will celebrate its 48 season this spring opening at the
Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center (The MAC) at 480 Main Street in Norway with Student
Art Month in May. Before the season officially opens, the WMAG will join in
Norway’s Easter Festival April 3 and will join in Norway Arts Festival partner
Norway downtown to hold a kickoff celebration Dinner April 9.
The full
schedule includes exhibits of WMAG members, the finest artists of Western Maine
in a Juried Show, a solo featured artist, an invitational exhibit and a variety
of other special events like the Norway Arts Festival and Chair-ity Auction on
July 10. In addition the MAC will be holding receptions the First Friday of the
Month with several other organizations including Frost Farm Gallery, the
Commons Art Collective, Café Nomad, The Norway Memorial Library, the Maine
Bookhouse, the Painted Mermaid Gallery and Artful Hands Fiber Studio and the McLaughlin
Garden.

In collaboration with the Norway Savings Bank, the WMAG installs
new exhibits on the first of every month in windows of the the Norway Savings
Bank Operations Center on Main Street, Norway which feature all WMAG artist
members. The season will opened with the
Heather Westleigh and Daniel Rennie, encaustic wax painting. The following are
currently schedule: March - Ellie Fellers, fine quilts; April - David Neufeld, photography;
May - Student Art, multi-media; June - Tere Porter, photography; July -
Chair-ity, hand-painted treasure's on preview for July 10th Chair-ity Auction,
August – Robin Priest photography and September – Bill Patrick paintings.
October and November are still open and we are accepting inquiries.
