NORWAY – The new public art exhibit season starts February 1, 2010
in the windows of the Norway Savings Bank Operation Center on Main Street in
Norway featuring the pigmented wax painting and multi-media artwork of Western
Maine Art Group (WMAG) Artists Heather Westleigh and Daniel Rennie.

In collaboration with the Norway Savings Bank, the WMAG installs
new exhibits on the first of every month which feature artist members as a
benefit for membership in the 47 year old nonprofit arts group. The annual
schedule runs from February through Thanksgiving, when the bank puts up its
traditional holiday tree display. The 2010 line up of artists is currently
booked through July, so there are still opportunities to exhibit in the
North-facing windows for a one-month slot from August through November.

The season will open with the following: February - Heather
Westleigh, encaustic wax painting; March - Ellie Fellers, fine quilts; April - David Neufeld,
photography; May - Student Art, multi-media; June - Tere Porter, photography; July
- Chair-ity, hand-painted treasure's on preview for July 10th Chair-ity Auction.

“Norway Savings Bank sets the bar for supporting community arts
and as been a supporter of the Western Maine Art Group for decades. It was
fundamental in the revitalization of the Western Maine Art Group (WMAG) in 2007
which eventually lead to this new, more meaningful relationship resulting in wonderful
public art exhibits on Main Street,” said WMAG Director Aranka Matolcsy.

In 2008 Norway Savings Bank and the WMAG forged an innovative collaboration
when the art group was invited to use 13 north-facing windows in the new Norway
Savings Bank Operations Center for art exhibits. In the renovation of the two buildings
which house the NSB Operations Center, special lighting was even installed to
accommodate beautiful lit art displays after dark.

Since beginning exhibits a wide variety of arts have been shown
from metal sculpture and fiber arts to photographs and fine arts paintings.
Eligibility to exhibit in this highly visible space is a benefit of membership
to the WMAG which has a mission to provide opportunities to artists and provide
broad community access to original arts while partnering with others to support
a prosperous culture in Western Maine. The only month not reserved for WMAG
members is May when MSAD#17 Student Art is featured.
