NORWAY - The rare and precious moments which reveal the best images a camera can capture through the eye of an artist will be featured in an exhibit of Western Maine Art Group Member and Photographer Darylann Leonard in the Norway Savings Bank Operation Center Windows at 365 Main Street for the Month of November.

Hailing from Waterford, this licensed clinical social worker by day and a photographer by night has had a deep passion for photography since she was a young girl when her father lent her his beloved Minolta SRT. Over the years the technology has changed but her love for photography has not. She enjoys working with portraits, landscapes, and sports photography. She also enjoys capturing candid shots of youngsters and families as well as working in formal sittings with the client’s choice of location. Her motto: “Preserving memories one snapshot at a time.”

Leonard’s photography captures the essence and beauty of Maine: its mountains, lakes, rivers, coast, and islands. She truly finds herself at peace when outdoors with her camera at hand and that piece is reflected in her work.

Her framed pieces have hung in the Lajos Matolcsy Art Center in Norway and Gallery 5 in Lewiston. She has also won several first-place awards at the Waterford World’s Fair, the Oxford Fair and the Fryeburg Fair. One of her photos was chosen for the 2010 Norway Savings Bank calendar. She also has been the editor and photographer for the yearbook at the Waterford Elementary School for the past two years. In addition to her regular photography, Leonard has started offering portrait packages, Christmas cards, and sports photos.
